Introduction
SRT-4 Boomba Blow-Off Install
Installing a Boomba BOV (Blow-Off Valve) requires the removal of the stock valve and any other aftermarket BOV part like the Mopar Blue Plate. This is a very simple install that should be finished in less than 30 minutes.
- Long Flathead screwdriver
- 10mm wrench.
A new Boomba BOV should include all of the required hardware. However, if you're missing the 3 bolts they can be purchased at any hardware store under the following specifications:
- M6 16mm - Boomba BOV (near stock)
- M6 25mm - Mopar Blue Plate (longer)
Begin by removing the intake using a long flathead screwdriver to loosen the 2 clamps. Removing the battery is an optional step that will provide some extra room. Using a 10mm wrench disconnect the battery's negative wire to provide a safer working environment.
Disconnect the pink vacuum line running to the stock valve. Use a 10mm wrench to remove the 3 bolts securing the blow-off valve to the turbo housing, then remove the valve.
Install the desired spring from the 3 provided and assemble the Boomba BOV. Carefully align the opening on the BOV, gasket, and turbo housing, then install using the 3 10mm bolts. It's easier to begin with the passenger side bolt, then work on the bottom and top bolts.
Carefully twist the pink vacuum line around and connect it to the Boomba BOV. Reconnect the air intake and battery cable, you're all done.
